KZN OILS is striving towards excellence in all we do, we are committed to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality.

The goal and in order to achieve this in our company, is to recognise the impact that our business activities can have on People and the Environment. At KZN OILS we will take reasonable and practicable steps to prevent and eliminate risks of incidents and accidents. The SHERQ policy forms an integral and influential part of our business planning and decision making regarding the Safety & Health of our employees, protection of the Environment and the Quality of our products.

To give effect to these goals and commitments:

      • We shall protect , promote and maintain the Health and Safety of all Stakeholders in all our areas of operations.
      • We shall establish competence and awareness regarding relevant Health Safety and Environmental matters of all our employees through training, mentoring and communication.
      • Set ourselves objectives and targets for continuous improvements with regards to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
      • We shall encourage all Managerial / Supervisory staff to take responsibility for the Health Safety and Security of those working under them. Each and every employee at KZN Oils shall take personal responsibility for adherence to safe work practices.
      • We shall consistently meet our agreed Customer requirements and ensure customer and employee satisfaction with our products and service.
      • We shall protect our assets and minimise damage.
      • We shall ensure that contingency plans are place to deal with emergencies at all times.
      • We shall conduct hazard identification and risk assessments regarding Health, Safety and Environmental impacts before commencement of any work, through a proper programme and procedures.
      • We shall conserve natural resources and reduce the Environmental burden of waste generation to water and land through strategic focusing on reducing, re-using, recycling and safe deposit of waste.
      • We shall ensure that all service providers / contractors / maintenance team, work according to the SHERQ requirements and that this policy is communicated and fully understood.
KZN OILS requires each and every employee within the company
as well as all service providers / contractors
to adhere strictly to our Policy at all times.
 

Embracing the Environment

The responsibility is ours to preserve our Earth so that successive generations too have a beautiful world. Global warming, deforestation and the threats to our fragile ecosystems are real. We believe therefore in the sustainability of our freshwater resources, our marine and coastal systems, and the preservation of our ecosystems. We also view the protection of our wetlands as non-negotiable. So our responsibility has become clearly defined. We must take cognizance that the advance of technology must be married to principles that nuture our natural environment.

At KZN Oils we are constantly engaging environmentalists to determine ways in which we can play a pro-active and meaningful role in preserving our environment. If we commit to finding realistic ways to protect and help the environment, then we will have gone some way towards real progress.
